March 2016 proved to be an exciting month for LS Productions, as the team headed to England to produce a trio of TV spots starring Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.
The campaign from Grey Düsseldorf is Klopp’s first appearance for Warsteiner since he was appointed ambassador for the non-alcoholic range in January. We were delighted to work with a truly international crew including CZAR, on our first motion shoot south of the border.
The campaign centres on the former Borussia Dortmund coach, affectionately known as ‘Kloppo’ in his native Germany, as he enjoys the beer with friends. Bringing his expertise to a social setting, ‘Kloppo’ is seen navigating a number of humorous situations to demonstrate that the non-alcoholic beer is ideal for athletes and their lifestyles.
Due to Klopp’s busy and demanding schedule, the shoot hinged on tight management of shoot timings. This was no problem for our brilliant team. The shoot took place over one day in Steven Gerrard’s Vincent Café and Cocktail Bar, in Liverpool's city centre.
So, how did we pull it off? The LS team were tasked with arranging the kit hire, conducting the extras casting, and managing a crew composed of both local and international talent. The efficient and friendly crew was assembled from talent sourced locally, primarily Manchester and Liverpool, to work with the production and HOD team that had flown in from Dusseldorf and Berlin.
In total, 48 crew members - including 25 extras, four actors and a talent double - had to be accommodated and were spread across five hotels across the city, all arranged by the LS team.

Some of the crew were even invited to go to Liverpool’s match with Manchester City the night before the shoot – fortunately Liverpool won 3-0 so everyone on set was delighted!”
The integrated campaign officially launched in Germany at the end of April with three TV commercials airing.
