LS Productions is growing, and we're looking for a Head of Film & TV with a solid track record in the industry to head up and grow our Film & TV department.

OVERVIEW

As a Head of Film & TV, you will be responsible for creating a top-class Production offering across our UK offices. You will shape and plan the Film & TV department, be responsible for developing creative projects, budget & manage production service enquiries for Film & TV shoots, build the LS Film & TV network and ensure all productions are delivered on time and on budget. In time you will lead and manage a newly formed Film & TV team.

You will have extensive relationships across the Film & TV network with industry know-how as well as excellent business and financial skills. You will have experience with funding streams and the development processes across factual docs & drama and have working knowledge of Movie Magic software. You will manage your department budget as well as bringing in freelancers to supplement and support full-time staff. You will manage the Production Team’s performance by ensuring adequate training, staff development and performance management when and if needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop projects for domestic and international markets
  • Find and nurture new talent and ideas for LS’s slate
  • Develop and implement a Film & TV Strategy Plan
  • Liaise with key funders, broadcasters, and investors

  • Day-to-day management of department including workflow, enquiries, and live jobs.
  • Have responsibility for Movie Magic and Excel budget management & training, invoice logging, invoicing and digital wraps.
  • Maintain and nurture client relationships together with the Sales & Marketing Department.
  • Monitor and maintain high production standards
  • Ensure you are up-to-date on relevant Health & Safety procedures, insurance guidance, accounting and HR procedures.
  • Develop and retain production talent, both in-house and freelance.
  • Work on live bids and support production tasks where needed.
  • Attend shoots where necessary.

EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Contribute to LS Productions' presence at Film & TV industry events in Manchester, Scotland and London.
  • Assess and maintain all supplier contacts and look for economies with regular suppliers, developing new relationships as we grow.
  • Build on the current Film & TV industry network to help develop a robust, future proof Scottish (and Northern England) production industry.

REPORTING

  • You will report to the Managing Director/Executive Producer; Sarah Drummond.

KEY SKILLS

  • Expert knowledge of Film & TV procedures, especially BECTU rates, tax incentives and health & safety guidelines.

Our team is expanding, and we're seeking a Production Accountant to join our Production team in Edinburgh or Manchester.

OVERVIEW

You will join a growing Production department, supporting the Finance function across Commercials, Stills, Film & TV. You will be the conduit between Production & Finance and will assist the Production department with all their finance needs. This includes, but is not limited to, invoicing, expenses, job reconciliation, creation of digital wraps when needed, PO’s and accounts workflow.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Raising of balance, shoot and wrap invoices
  • Ensuring invoices are raised in accordance with the service agreement
  • Liaising with Head of Production on any payments and contract queries
  • Review spends on an ongoing basis and allocation of job coding
  • Produce reports and analysis of actual spend vs budget
  • Sign off job invoices and reconciliation of all budgets from Commercials, Stills, Film & TV
  • Request invoices from crew & suppliers post shoot
  • Production insurance reconciliation
  • Creation and maintenance of department finances including Credit Card return, expenses and any float returns internal and external to the company
  • Support on consolidating Production budgets
  • Support Finance team in department audits
  • Preparation of any ad hoc reports or analysis required
  • Liaise with finance team within Accounts Payable & Receivables
  • Attend to any queries and payment disputes

REQUIREMENTS

  • Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) would be desirable but not essential
  • Experience of working closely with producers, production managers and the exec team within a very fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build great working relationships with the Finance and Production team, as well as the Exec team
  • Experience of working with Xero is essential
  • Understanding and knowledge of the BECTU & APA guidelines would be advantageous but not essential

  • Experience of maintaining and controlling Production budgets
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in the face of changing circumstances

Our Location department is looking for an organised and meticulous Database Assistant to join the Edinburgh based team.

OVERVIEW

As LS Productions Database Assistant you will fulfill a crucial role within our Location Department, overseeing the cataloguing of our imagery and the entry of corresponding information and data.

You will create and amend location records and use a combination of off-the-shelf and bespoke software to ensure all location information and imagery is captured accurately in our Location Library. You will be adept at tracking your workflow and progress across multiple systems and have the ability to switch between software and track your work with ease.

You will be responsible for ensuring all imagery is edited and ordered correctly and assign contact information, geocodes, metadata, keywords, descriptions, categories and sub-categories.

You will review historical location entries, cleanse the library of locations no longer available for filming and de-duplicate the library of images or entries as required.

You will be responsible for completing projects to standardise formatting and information across platforms, both for location records and department contacts.

The Head of Locations will work with you on Location Owner outreach to our existing contacts and you will ensure all responses are recorded in the library.

You will track the importing and exporting of imagery across multiple locations and projects to ensure the correct workflow is achieved and be adept at managing large volumes of data migration.

On completion of the projects LS Productions work on, you will work with the Location Manager and Location Coordinators to capture all location information obtained as part of the project and any other associated admin, including location-related reporting.

You will assist with triaging new locations to be added to the library, filtering correspondence to the correct team member and ensuring stats on new additions to the library are communicated to the team and wider company.

You will come to LS Productions with the confidence to draw on your prior experience to assist the Location Department to streamline processes and develop best practices for all data entry, cataloguing and administration.

You will assist the Location Department during a transition to new software and the migration of imagery and data.

REPORTING

You will report to the Head of Locations Amy Morement and in her absence Sarah Drummond, MD.

KEY SKILLS

  • 2+ years in a similar role.
  • A strong understanding of DAMS, CRMs, G suite – particularly Google Drive, Gmail and Google Sheets, Dropbox, MS Word and Excel.

OVERVIEW

As LS Productions’ Head of Brand & Marketing you will manage and lead the marketing team whilst working closely alongside the LS Leadership Team (Sales, Production and Locations) in order to fulfil key company objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Our Location Department is expanding in England or Wales, and we're on the hunt for a Location Coordinator!

OVERVIEW

As LS Productions’ Location Coordinator, you will assist the Head of Locations and Location Manager with running the Location Department in respect of both all the shoots the Location Department facilitates and location-related business development on behalf of LS Productions. You must have 3+ years experience working in a Location Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for the workflow of each shoot LS facilitates on behalf of the department. This includes overseeing the collation of all information from the client, location images, site plans, information regarding locations and crew pencils. You will take overarching responsibility for the collation of the above.

You will also oversee the addition of new locations to our database and ensure this is being recorded and actioned correctly in line with LS procedure.

You will assist the Location Manager to present suitable locations to our clients and to contact owners, arrange recces, negotiate fees and carry out all necessary location pre-production where required; ensuring that all enquiries are dealt with in the most efficient way.

You will assist with contacting Location Owners, Scouts and Location Managers for both live jobs and general enquiries and you will ensure that all contacts and notes are captured on the database for future use.

You will work with the Head of Locations to organise content for location-related marketing material and help monitor the location section of our website ensuring locations are kept up to date and current, based on trends in briefs and the acquisition of new locations. You will be responsible for tracking what clients are asking for and feeding this into plans for database development.

You will keep up to date with location news in the industry, to be shared with the Head of Locations to inform future strategy.

You will be responsible for scouting and arranging scouting for the database as briefed by the Head of Locations.

You will be required to scout, recce and work shoots at various levels within the department as the size of the shoot requires.

KEY SKILLS

  • 3+ years working in a Location Department. Those with experience in film offices, location agencies, production companies, screen agencies (or similar) and/or working freelance will be considered.
  • Confidence managing workflow, delegating tasks and impeccable organisation skills.
  • The ability to think creatively and find imaginative solutions to location briefs.
  • Driving License.
  • High aptitude for tackling research projects to unearth the seemingly impossible, working with high attention to detail.
  • Experience managing a database and a high level of computer literacy, including DAMS, CRMs, Adobe Lightroom and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience representing a company to clients and location owners, from the office and on set.
  • Ability to manage projects and budgets independently.
  • Good connections within the industry, with a desire to build on this.

You will have extensive production experience across stills and motion with technical know-how as well as excellent business and financial skills. This will include managing the Production Department budget as well as bringing in freelancers to supplement and support the full-time staff. You will manage the Production Team’s performance by ensuring adequate training, staff development and performance management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRODUCTION

  • Day-to-day management of team, workflow, enquiries and live jobs.
  • Improve processes and efficiencies across our various platforms such as FileMaker, google suite, slack, dropbox etc
  • Coordinate calendars and diaries; update staff and freelance availabilities; assign jobs.
  • Compile budget templates and financial procedures (including updates, training, invoice logging, invoicing and digital wraps).
  • Maintain and nurture client relationships together with the Sales & Marketing Department.
  • Monitor and maintain high production standards.
  • Ensure production team are up-to-date on relevant Health & Safety procedures, insurance guidance, accounting and HR procedures.
  • Develop and retain production talent, both in-house and freelance.
  • Work on live bids and support production tasks where needed.
  • Attend shoots where necessary.

EXECUTIVE

  • Oversee and manage the Department budget.
  • Develop and implement Production Strategy Plan.
  • Maintain and run our Sustainability Policy.
  • Implementing and monitoring the producers’ sales strategy.

EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Contribute to LS Productions' presence at industry events in Manchester, Scotland and London.
  • Assess and maintain all supplier contacts and look for economies with regular suppliers, developing new relationships as we move forward.
  • Build on the current industry network to help develop a robust, future-proof Scottish (and Northern England) production industry.

REPORTING

  • You will report to the Managing Director/Executive Producer.

Our team is expanding, and we’re seeking a new Business Development Director whose role will be critical in the future growth of LS Productions.

OVERVIEW

We are looking for someone with a passion for the screen industries and a track record in sales, business development and marketing. We want someone who will grasp the opportunity to expand LS within our current market share and develop new and exciting revenue streams across film, TV, commercials, fashion, sport and music videos and craft a strategy plan that will span the UK as well as having an international dimension.

The position will involve a high degree of UK and international travel (post-COVID) and can be based out of London, Manchester or Edinburgh, where we have active offices.

The role is suited to a confident and organised sales professional who has worked in a similar role within the creative sector. This person should have established relationships in the screen industries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Devise and implement the LSP Sales, Business Development and Marketing (“SBDM”) Strategy.
  • Increase the number and quality of sales leads, prospects and enquiries.
  • Build a solid national and international sales pipeline and tracking process.
  • Increase the conversion rate of enquiries to confirmed shoots.
  • Meet and beat sales and profitability targets.
  • Agree on revenue targets for LSP and set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Determine system improvements and implement change and corrective actions.
  • Meet with the sales and marketing team regularly to discuss work-in-progress and assess performance against KPIs.
  • Direct line management of Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Implement a consistent closed-loop between marketing and sales, ensuring marketing analytics drive sales actions and are regularly and clearly reported.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients and create new client relationships in the UK, Europe, Canada and USA. Sustain rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits, exploring specific needs and anticipating new opportunities.
  • Present sales results to the LSP Leadership team on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Prepare Sales and Marketing Action Plans at an individual, as well as a team level.
  • Set marketing objectives including planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating communications, advertising and trade event opportunities.
  • Identify industry trends. Collect information by analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Attend and speak at conferences and events about LS Productions’ services.
  • Liaise with the MD to ensure all business activity is consistent with production objectives.
  • Identify and implement a variety of new business initiatives to drive sales.
  • Ensure the organisation has an effective sales development internal coaching programme.
  • Ensure the CRM is being used effectively and provides a competitive advantage to the company.

RESEARCH AND PLANNING

  • Assess the effectiveness of the LSP model in each of the territories of UK, US, Canada, Europe and Asia.
  • Consider North American, European and Asian representation and reporting models.
  • Assess the experience, output and potential of LSP personnel.
  • Examine trends in advertising platforms and spend.
  • Examine the potential impact of changes in the stills and motion supply chain.

REPORTING

  • Report to MD and CEO on strategy, operations and results.
  • Liaise with MD on production strategy and objectives.
  • Liaise with the Head of Production on infrastructure, personnel and administrative requirements.
  • Liaise with the Financial Director on financial implications of sales and marketing strategy.
  • Attend key strategic business development trips with MD and CEO and other LSP personnel.
  • Attend leadership meetings and quarterly full team meetings.

KEY EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE REQUIREMENTS

  • National and international sales and marketing strategy and implementation.
  • Creative, Advertising and/or Film & TV Production experience.
